1/32nd scale. Resin body. Hand-made in Le Mans, France.

By launching the Porsche 928, Ernst Furhmann, the then-head of the German brand, hoped to break out of the 911 monoculture in which the brand had become entrenched and expand into new markets.

Its modern design reflects the aesthetic trends of the late 1970s and early 1980s. It is a massive, robust car with generous dimensions. Although little appreciated by fans of the 911 and its Flat6, it nevertheless enjoyed some success, particularly in the United States, the market for which it was primarily intended, and enjoyed a remarkable longevity.

The only Porsche 928 on the grid for the 1983 24 Hours of Le Mans, the No. 97 Porsche 928 was covered in a fully metallic livery, like a harlequin, for an all-French crew composed of Raymond Boutinaud, team owner, Patrick Gonin, and Alain Le Page. They complete 234 laps.
