The 917/20 design featured an unusually wide, bulging body, stubby nose, and deeply curved wheel arches. Because of its plump shape, critics and team members nicknamed it "Der Trüffeljäger von Zuffenhausen" (The Truffle Hunter of Zuffenhausen), "Rosa Berta", or most famously, the "Pink Pig." Porsche designer Anatole Lapine turned the joke into a masterstroke, painting the car a bright pastel pink and mapping out a butcher's diagram.
